Featuring sign re-furbishings
and upgrades.

2006 close up with all new
faces, neon, wiring, transformers, and paint.

    Original '70s display in 2006 before re-furbish.
Original top row letter faces were appliqué.
Acrylic over acrylic.
Over the years, somebody replaced the "AZ" with
a different color acrylic and new non matching neon.
1. The first step was to remove the old letter faces.
2. Then all the neon, wiring and transformers.
3. At the shop the trim cap was removed from the take down letters in order to trace the original acrylic outline for the all new clear acrylic letters.

4.  On-site re-wiring, installation of the new neon
and all new transformers in the raceways.
The sign sheet metal was all re-painted white.

 Completed re-furbish. .August 2006 photo.
.
The new colors were selected by the client.
For durability, the letters were 2nd surface decorated with translucent vinyl.
5.   The 2nd surface re-furbish decoration  procedure was specified to protect the vinyl from the weather and sun. The re-furbished sign met UL standard.
.    By leaving the metal on the wall, no new permit was required. Shop time for this upgrade was under 10 days. 6.   On-site re-assembly of the new glass and faces was completed in one day. The on-site cleaning and painting of the metal and re-wiring was completed while the shop fabricated the new faces and glass.

Below is a Mill Avenue, Tempe AZ  existing display change over.
.

One display, 3 signs.  A new tenant assumed the venue in 2005. The project included a new identity and a new sign configuration.  The restaurant then moved to a larger location in a local mall.
The 2nd tenant commissioned a logo and a sign in 2006.
.     The first sign sign conversion / change was the most demanding. For the 2nd tenant, the savings was that the sign structure had already been re-furbished and converted for the CNC aluminum face configuration.
One of the municipal approval requirements was that the existing structure could not be removed.

.Commentary  "Ask this old Sign"

.   Refurbish old Signs. There are so many great "old" signs out there. Many only need new lighting and some paint. Others may need a complete new build of the decorative features. You are invited to check back for features of some other recent existing sign upgrades.

.   There is never an obligation when you contact Scenic Digital to inquire about your current or any planned sign project. Including an existing sign upgrade or re-furbish review.
.   Anytime.
